Rafa Benitez has revealed he is closing in on a SEVENTH summer signing - as one of his former Liverpool players was linked with a move to Tyneside.
Benitez revealed to our reporter Miles Starforth last night that the club are hoping to sign another player soon.

One player who has been linked with Newcastle is Wolves midfielder Conor Coady.
The 23-year-old played for Benitez at Liverpool before joining Huddersfield and then Wolves, and with defensive midfielder Cheick Tiote looking set for an exit, Newcastle may be in the market for another player in his position.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claim that Barcelona see the Ayoze Perez as a potential back-up to their star trio Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
The attacking trio scored 150 goals between them last season but the Catalan giants have struggled to find anyone willing to sit on the bench as their deputy.
Barcelona were interested in signing Perez two years ago before he signed for Newcastle in a £1.8million move from Tenerife.
Perez is currently tied down to Newcastle until 2021 and is said to be happy at St James’s Park and eager to play a big role under Benitez next season.
