Play it again, Yanga-Mbiwa told by Pardew

PACY ... Newcastle's Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

PACY ... Newcastle's Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

MAPOU Yanga-Mbiwa will be asked to play it again at the Metalist Stadium.

The defender, signed from Montpellier last month, made his full

Newcastle United debut against Metalist Kharkiv last week.

And Yanga-Mbiwa is likely to again play at right-back, with first-choice Mathieu Debuchy not eligible to play in the Europa League.

United manager Alan Pardew felt the versatile 23-year-old was sound defensively against a technically-gifted Ukrainian side in the goalless draw.

With the Round of 32 tie finely-balanced, Pardew’s team must strike the right balance between defence and attack.

“He did well _ he’s quick and comfortable in possession,” Pardew told the Gazette.

“I think he did a sound job down the right. He had a good player up against him.

“I thought Willian was their best player. He didn’t see much of the ball.”

Pardew also has Danny Simpson available, with the right-back having recovered from a foot injury.
