PARIS Saint-Germain have had a £14m bid for Yohan Cabaye rejected by Newcastle United.
The Ligue 1 club are now expected to return with an improved offer for the 28-year-old.
In-form Cabaye has long been coveted by PSG coach Laurent Blanc, who worked with the midfielder during his time in charge of France.
Newcastle are not looking to sell Cabaye in this month’s transfer window.
But United will do business if their £20m-plus valuation of Cabaye is met.
Should PSG land Cabaye, then Newcastle are likely to bid for Remy Cabella.
However, Montpellier, Cabella’s club, are unwilling to sell the 23-year-old this month.
