Rafa Benitez has given Karl Darlow a vote of confidence ahead of Newcastle United's visit to Carrow Road.

Darlow will make only his second appearance for the relegation-threatened club in tomorrow's game against Norwich City.

Newcastle manager Benitez, already without No1 Tim Krul, lost Rob Elliot to a season-ending injury this week.

"Karl is training well," said Benitez.

"He has a lot of confidence. He has played a lot of games in the Championship."

Elliot suffered a cruciate ligament injury playing for the Republic of Ireland this week.

Benitez said: "It's very bad news, but he's been very positive.

"He can do nothing at the moment. We have to support him.

"What we can do is support Karl."

Newcastle are 19th in the Premier League and three points adrift of 17th-placed Norwich.
