Rolando Aarons is set to sign a new long-term deal at Newcastle United.
The winger, in the final year of his contract, has been offered a five-year deal.
Aarons featured prominently in pre-season and came off the bench in the club's season-opening defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage last week.
Talks over a new contract for Aarons broke down in late 2014.
But the 20-year-old has impressed United manager Rafa Benitez, and Aarons has been rewarded him with a new deal.
Newcastle hope the proposed contract can be signed ahead of Saturday's home game against Huddersfield Town.
