Bruce's side take on Arsenal tomorrow in a third-round FA Cup tie. United’s head coach will be without Jamal Lewis and Ryan Fraser, though Jamaal Lascelles – who has recovered from Covid-19 – has trained all week and could be involved.

“We’ve got a couple of knocks in terms of Jamal Lewis, who took a knock to his knee,” said Bruce. “Ryan Fraser's edging towards it, but will not make the weekend. We’ve had good news on Jamaal. He’s trained the best part of all week.”

Bruce also confirmed that Allan Saint-Maximin was back in the country after recovering from Covid-19 in France with his family. Bruce said: “Allan’s back in the country and we’re waiting for the doctors to give us the go ahead.”
