Steven Taylor is out of Newcastle United's visit to Portman Road.
The Ipswich Town defender – who left St James's Park last year – is sidelined with a hamstring problem ahead of the April 17 Championship fixture.
Taylor lasted 47 minutes on his comeback from injury against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.
And Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy has told the BBC that Taylor could miss the rest of the campaign.
Taylor – who signed a half-season deal with Ipswich in January – is understood to have suffered a recurrence of the injury which had sidelined him since February.
The former England Under-21 international's 13-year first-team career at Newcastle came to an end last summer.
Taylor made 268 appearances, and scored 15 goals, for the club he joined as a nine-year-old.
The 31-year-old hit the headlines last month for comments he made about Sunderland.
Meanwhile, Ipswich are 17th in the table and nine points clear of the relegation zone.
And the game could prove decisive for Championship leaders Newcastle, who are closing in on automatic promotion.
