Teenager Tamas ready for Tees barrage

NEWCASTLE United's Tamas Kadar is sweating on a start in the Tees-Tyne derby.

With Jose Enrique an injury doubt for Saturday's visit to Middlesbrough, Kadar is on standby to deputise at left-back.

The 19-year-old came on when Enrique limped off 33 minutes into his comeback against Barnsley at the weekend.

Boss Chris Hughton is optimistic Enrique will be fit to line up at the Riverside Stadium, but Kadar – who went on to play his part in a thumping 6-1 win – is ready if called upon.

"I'm ready if I'm needed," said Kadar. "It was a surprise for me after 30 minutes when the staff told me that I had to go to the field because of Jose's injury.

"I didn't even get time to warm up, so the first few minutes was not very easy, but I think I was OK. After that, I enjoyed every single second of the game.

"It was amazing to play in that game. The atmosphere was excellent."

Kadar's appearance capped a rollercoaster week, the defender having been dismissed playing for Hungary's Under-21s in their 2-0 midweek defeat to Italy.

"It was a very strange week," added Kadar. "I played for the Hungarian team in Italy, and that game wasn't very positive.

"We played badly, and lost 2-0. The extra negative was that I got a red card.

"This was the first one during my career, so I was really disappointed and unhappy.

"I have spoke a lot with my agents after the game and they tried to explain to me that it's not the end of the world.

"I have to forget it as soon as possible and try to concentrate for the next game in Newcastle and in the national team."

Meanwhile, Enrique is pencilled in to return to full training tomorrow, giving the Spaniard a chance of facing Middlesbrough.
