Wigan’s appeal to ticketless Newcastle fans

EMPTY SEATS ... Wigan take on Bolton in the FA Cup at the DW Stadium last season.

WIGAN Athletic have appealed to Newcastle United fans without tickets not to travel to the DW Stadium.

United have sold out their 4,500-seat allocation for Saturday’s game.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew yesterday appealed for Wigan to issue more tickets, but the club says it can’t accommodate any more away supporters.

Wigan chief executive Jonathan Jackson said: “We strongly urge fan without tickets not to travel. Any Newcastle fans in the home stands will, on police advice, be ejected.”
