With a 10-point cushion do Newcastle have one foot back in the Premier League? Rafa Benitez has his say...

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is taking nothing for granted as his side close in on promotion back to the Premier League.

United are 10 points clear of third-placed Huddersfield Town, who are the most likely of the promotion chasers to muscle in on the automatic spots at the top of the Championship.

But, even with just seven games to go, eight for the Terriers, Benitez is urging caution.

Ahead of tomorrow night's clash with Burton Albion at St James's Park, the Spaniard said: "

"Huddersfield have one game in hand so we do not see this as having a 10 point gap or whatever.

"We have a mini-league now. It is seven games, we have won one. We have to just try to win this mini-league.

"It is a long race.

"You can do your maths, you can do your numbers but you just have to win your games.

"We have to just be sure that tomorrow we are ready and we try to get the three points.

"Tomorrow we may be a step closer, we may not - it depends on the others.

"We know we just have to do our job."
