Nou Camp beat Mavericks to go second in U10s

NEW team Wrekenton Nou Camp scored a comfortable 5-0 win over a brave Monkton Mavericks to move into second spot in the U10s Premier Division.

On the scoresheet for the Gateshead outfit were Forster, Campbell, Wilson and Burns (2).

Castle Park got their first win of the season under their belts with a 4-0 success over Jarrow Terriers.

A goal from Parry and a superb hat-trick from Wilkinson sealed the points for the Sunderland side.

In a fiercely-fought game, with both sides totally committed, nothing could separate South Shields Youth and South Shields Tigers, who shared the points in an entertaining 0-0 draw.

Both teams had chances to win the game, with star man Donald making a great late save for the Tigers.

Hebburn Wanderers took on Monkton Hurricanes in what was a very tight game with both sides sharing the points in an exciting 1-1 draw.

A fine move involving Wood, Lumley and Scott was finished off in style by Pyle to put Hurricanes in front.

Monkton pushed on to try to increase their lead before the break, but heroics from Wanderers' keeper Tomlinson kept the score to 1-0 at the break.

After the restart, Wanderers pushed up and got their equaliser through a splendid strike from Dykes.

The Hebburn side then defended well for the rest of the game to share the points. Morrison was voted star man.

In another tight match, leaders St Cuthbert's shared the spoils with South Tyneside Spirit in a very evenly matched 3-3 draw.

On the mark for the Durham side were Melvin and D Latham (2), with McDonald (2) and Clarke replying for Spirit.

In a highly-exciting and high-scoring match in U10s Division One, Jarrow Vikings went down 5-3 to Hebburn Town Gold.

Taylor, Stobbs and Malone were on the mark for the Vikings, with Brown and the impressive Melia bagging four goals for Gold.

Vikings led 3-1 at the break, but a terrific fightback from Hebburn saw them nick the spoils.

Whiteleas Celtics had the prolific Millwater to thank for their hard-fought 1-0 win over a battling South Shields Jaguars Cubs.

Train was outstanding for Celtics, who recorded their first win of the season.

South Shields Jags cemented their place at the top with a resounding 6-1 win over Chuter Ede Hurricanes, who never gave up.

Carrick netted for Chuter Ede, while Meek was voted their star man.

Jags replied with goals from Reed, Robertson (2) and a fine hat-trick from Scott.

South Shields Raiders maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing 5-2 win over Sporting Jarrow who competed well.

Cook netted both goals for Sporting, with Eckert, Grech, Armstrong and M Booth (2) completing the scoring for Raiders.

Hebburn Town Demons scored an emphatic 8-0 win over Jarrow Fellgate Juniors.

On the scoresheet were Bolding, Kelly (2), Hetherington (2) and a great hat-trick from Davidson.

Leam Rangers go joint top after their big 8-2 win over a brave Consett Saracens.

Doubles from Richardson and Walker were followed by four goals from the impressive Craig.
