David Moyes has handed Adnan Januzaj and Papy Djilobodji their full Sunderland debuts against Middlesbrough in the Wear-Tees derby.

Fabio Borini misses out with a toe injury, so Manchester United loanee Januzaj comes into the starting line-up after coming on as a sub against Manchester City last weekend.

Djilobodji, an £8million summer signing from Chelsea, makes his full debut after Younes Kaboul's £3.5million departure to Watford this week.

As expected, Lamine Kone, who this week turned down a new contract offer, is not in the squad after complaining of a back injury less than 24-hours after rejecting the new deal.

New signing Steven Pienaar is among the subs, the 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal after a successful trial with the club.
