Newcastle and Sunderland were among the headline-makers on the transfer front today.

For the Magpies, it was more on the selling front, with Andros Townsend and Moussa Sissoko both linked with Premier League clubs.

However, for the Black Cats, they were reports they would have to shell out £12million to land potential target James Tomkins.

Chelsea are planning a £57million move for Lazio winger Antonio Candreva and Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci. (The Sun)

Liverpool want to sign Newcastle winger Andros Townsend, who has a release clause of about £10.5million. (Daily Mirror)
