Roofers warned to roll up their sleeves

JARROW Roofing boss Richie McLoughlin has warned his side they must roll their sleeves up when they host Stokesley tomorrow.

Free-flowing football has been limited for the Roofers of late, but they remain in the Northern League Division Two promotion hunt after some sterling performances.

Roofing battled back from 3-1 down against league leaders Sunderland RCA on Saturday to earn a 3-3 draw - all the more creditable given the number of players they had missing.

And McLoughlin wants a repeat of those qualities when they take on Stokesley in another crunch game.

He said: "If we dig in and battle like we did last week, that will go a long way to getting something out of the game.

"I'm expecting a tough game, but on our day we can certainly battle, and that's what I expect us to do."

Stokesley come into the fixture on the back of a decent run themselves.

They are just off the promotion pace at the moment, sitting three points and two places behind fifth-placed Roofing, who themselves are seven points adrift of leaders RCA, albeit with two games in hand.

Roofing's selection problems are eased slightly by the return of Keith Foster, Michael Chapman and Scott Donaldson.

But McLoughlin must do without Stuart Dixon, who is out injured.
