New Everton boss Ronald Koeman is reported to have made £27million-rated Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum his number one transfer priority.

Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham have previously been linked with a move for the Holland international but the Daily Mail are reporting the Toffees are set to firm up their interest.

An offer could be made as soon as this week, with Koeman a long-term fan of Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum cost Newcastle £14.5million last summer, scoring 13 goals in 48 appearances for the club in their unsuccessful battle against the drop.
