Benitez's relegation-threatened side came from behind to draw 2-2 with Liverpool this afternoon thanks to second-half goals from Papiss Cisse and Jack Colback,

And the result moved the club level on points with 18th-placed Sunderland – who take on Arsenal tomorrow – in the Premier League.

United manager Benitez said: "You never know how important the point will be.

"We have to do our job in the other games.

"The reaction of the team shows they still believe. Hopefully, in the next games the fans will continue to show their support and we can get more points."

Newcastle went behind to a second-minute goal from Daniel Sturridge.

And Adam Lallana doubled Liverpool's advantage in the 30th minute.

"We have to keep going," said Benitez, who was frustrated at his team's first-half mistakes.

"I have told the players it is important to understand that it is more important not to make mistakes and allow the other teams to go ahead at the beginning of games."
