Oshin gives Reyrolle a Ray of hope
HEBBURN Reyrolle made it to the semi-final of the Combination Cup with a goal in the last minute of extra time against Amble.
Ray Oshin grabbed the only goal of the game against their Northern Alliance Division One rivals to send the South Tyneside outfit in to last four, where they will face Whitley Bay A on home turf.
Both sides struggled to create a clear-cut chance, the first real opportunity coming on 60 minutes when Oshin was denied by the visiting custodian when he was through on goal.
Amble hit the woodwork as they pressured the home side, but on 87 minutes Reyrolle's Craig Malley missed a one-on-one opportunity.
With time running out and penalties looking likely, Oshin blasted the ball home from close range with 60 seconds left on the clock.
"A 0-0 scoreline would have been a fair result, but it had to be settled and we have beat, in my opinion, the best side in this division," said assistant manager Simon Johnson.
"We will take that and hopefully go one better and now make it in to the final of this competition."
