When Porter fell to an excellent catch, the club were delighted to see homegrown player Ryan Dowens return.
Dowens quickly got to work and hit 30 quick runs, helping Marsden reach 200 within 33 overs.
Showing faith in their bowling attack, Marsden declared, giving Silksworth 62 overs to bat.

Malinga was happy bowling into a strong wind and that allowed fast bowler Neilson to attack from the other end.
The evergreen Paul Snaith joined the attack (4-26) and bowled an impressive spell.
Nelson (3-12) was replaced by Paul Cook, who took a wicket with his first ball, finishing with figures of 2-4.

“He’s highlighted the importance of taking one game at a time and not getting ahead of ourselves.
“I’m really enjoying my season at Marsden and I feel like I’m a part of the beginning of something very special.”
The Second XI had a close encounter at the Jack Clark Park.
