Pancrate hopes to play his part
FABRICE Pancrate has been on the fringes for the most part since joining Newcastle.
But the winger is hoping his recent performances have given manager Chris Hughton a selection headache.
Pancrate was handed a start against Barnsley last weekend, and it was from his pass that Peter Lovenkrands won a match-changing penalty.
And the 30-year-old Frenchman is again on standby, with Wayne Routledge by no means certain to return from injury in tomorrow's Tees-Tyne derby at the Riverside Stadium.
"I was pleased to get a start, and it would be great for me to start against Middlesbrough," Pancrate told the Gazette.

"But no matter what role I get, I will always look to give the manager something to think about that.
"I came here to play games. It's my job to make goals as a winger, but also to score them."
"And if every player does that, we have a great chance of winning."
Pancrate came off the bench in December's 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, and he went on: ""It's a derby, and these games are what every player wants to be involved in.
"At this moment we are only thinking about winning games. That's what is important for the team, regardless of whether it is a derby game or not."
