Reyrolle eye an upset in the cup

HEBBURN Reyrolle host Amble United in the quarter-final of the Pinpoint Recruitment Combination Cup tomorrow.

Reyrolle have fitness doubts over both Steven Burns (hamstring) and Craig Watson (back), while Dean Wright and Mark Smith are nursing long-term knee injuries.

However, they could welcome back Craig Malley, and may hand striker Channon North a start after he impressed from the bench in last weekend's victory away to Rutherford, scoring with his first touch.

"They (Amble) are one of the stronger sides in our division and they are looking good for promotion, so we know what to expect from them," said assistant manager Simon Johnson.

"Our squad is stronger now than the last time we played them, but we know that if we play to our strengths that we could cause a cup upset and make the semi-finals of this competition."

Shields United, meanwhile, take on Berwick in the cup.
