Shields aim to halt losing sequence
SOUTH SHIELDS are hoping to end their awful run of form when they host Ryton at Filtrona Park tonight.
And boss Gary Steadman has been boosted by the return from suspension of influential captain Lee Paul Scroggins.
The midfielder is set to come straight into the starting line-up as Shields look to register their first league points of 2010, having lost their last games in Division One of the Northern League.
"It's a big boost having Scroggins back," said Steadman. "He's a big player for us, no doubt about it."
Goalkeeper Josh Carmichael also returns to the squad after missing Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Penrith, but Tony Coe is suspended.
