  Who was the worst player to play for your club?
I can think of Darren McDonough (sp?) and Stephen Carr at the toon, Thomas Hauser, Brett Angel and Stead at Sunderland.

I can think of loads of dross I've watched represent Sunderland over the years ... how awful was Steve Hetzke?

And of course, the debacle that was our Honduran superstar Milton Nunez...signed from Nacional of Uruguay, but the one that was in the third division of the Uruguayan league...still makes me cringe thinking about it.

Definitely Hauser! Also up there Lillian Leslandes, Iain Hesford, Gareth Hall, Paul Stewart and for me McShane definitely makes it into the worst 11 as centrehalf along with Etuhu for being able to trap a ball further than I can pass one.

Ray Clarke, incredible scoring record before we signed him; a wooden post would have been more effective at scoring goals for us. I agree with Stephen Carr, never wanted to sign him, so glad he's gone. Dave "****" Barton, George "Mavis" Reilly, Peter Cartwright, Kenny Wharton and in goal Steve Hardwicke, he had trouble saving back passes from his own defenders! Any player we bought from Wimbledon, e.g. Andy Thorn, Dave Bessant, Warren Barton. The foreign legion, Guivarch, Marcellino, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Anders Andersen, Albert Luque...

What - no Gareth Hall?
Bit unfair on Leslandes too. Trying to turn him into Quinny just cos he was tall was a major mistake. Lost count of the numbers of times we'd hook another ludicrous punt in only for for him to point to his feet and shake his head in exasperation.

Talk of Milton Nunez brings to mind Roland Gregoire. In the days when black (apparently it is more politically correct to say black rather than coloured, but if that's wrong and I offend anyone i apologise) players were beginning to make an impact, and lots of teams had a quality black player, Roly was our "token" black. Phrases like "fish out of water" or "running around like a headless chicken" are the kindest way of describing Roly's performances.
