So Newcastle are now being linked with the Serbian Peter Crouch...why not just go and buy the real thing.

Crouch and Owen work well for England and could be a formidable partnership for Newcastle too...why fork out money for a foreigner who might never settle here (And let's face it there's been plenty of overpaid, foreign bench warmers over the years at St James's Park like Luque, Marcelinho, etc etc) when all Couch wants is first team football and a little bit of love.

Who knows his signing might also keep Owen happy, he'll sign his new deal, we'll see loads of goals and be happy...it makes sense.

Please Mr Ashley, break the bank and buy Crouch...enough of the cheap imitations already.

I dont think it would be a good idea, enrique is the clubs only left back and i think he is one for the future as a good left back is hard to find. Everyone knows peter crouch isnt happy at liverpool with the amounts of starts he is getting so we should try and get him im sure owen could persuade him his future lies up here.

agreed, crouch's goalscoring record since he went to liverpool has been excellent, even though he's been in and out of the team.

his record for england's not bad either, and I think owen would stay if crouch signed.

we've wasted too much money on unproven players over the years - boumsong, luque, guivarch, viana.

with crouch you know what you're getting.

Spot on. We need someone who has experience in the Premiership, not someone who will spend the next season trying to adjust and then be sold on. I think Crouch would be a great buy but not in exchange for Jose Enrique.
