A COMEDY spoof of a bestselling book is coming to the region.
Fifty-One Shades of Maggie is on its way to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle.
The comedy, poking fun at the raunchy novel Fifty Shades of Grey, penned by EL James, is embarking on its first UK tour after playing to sell-out audiences in Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin earlier this year.
The show stars former Emmerdale actress Adele Silva as Maggie Muff and tells of her search for love.
The working-class girl, like many women, has been let down by men time and time again.
However, when she attends an interview at a social security office, she meets the handsome and hunky Mr Big and believes he could be the man of her dreams.
The show started off as a Facebook-based spoof blog written by Leesa Harker.
It was so well received that it went viral, reaching tens of thousands of followers in a matter of days.
The one-woman show stars Adele, best known for her long-running role as Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale.
The 32-year-old played the part on and off for 14 years, as well as appearing in other TV shows including The Bill and EastEnders.
Fifty-One Shades of Maggie is on at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday, September 10 to Saturday, September 14.
