A CONTROVERSIAL reality show accused of showing the region in a bad light is back for a summer special.
The eight stars of MTV’s Geordie Shore, including South Shields 20-year-old Sophie Kasaei, horrified viewers with their drunken antics as they hit the clubs and pubs of Newcastle.
The show even prompted thousands of people on social networking site Facebook to join boycott groups such as RIP Geordie Pride.
But tomorrow night, the programme will be back on our TV screens when the housemates head off to Spain.
Magaluf Madness will be split into two one-hour specials, which TV bosses promise will be even more unadulterated and outrageous than the first series.
The show will follow Sophie and her Geordie Shore pals as they pack their suitcases and head to Magaluf for a holiday they’ll never forget.
The summer specials, filmed over a week, see the cast swap the Newcastle club scene for the sun, sea, sand and sangrias of Mallorca’s top clubbing destination.
Sophie said: “Magaluf was amazing. It was so good. The girls held back a bit because we’d seen ourselves on the telly by then, and knew what we looked like.
“I’m really hoping for a series two, but you never know.”
The show’s creators are still staying tight-lipped over whether or not the show will be commissioned for a second series, despite it being the channel’s highest rating programme in eight years.
For spin-off Magaluf Madness, the housemates reportedly leave their on-off relationships behind, hoping new romances will sizzle in the heat.
But tensions are said to explode between Gaz and Charlotte, causing a major bust-up.
n Geordie Shore: Magaluf Madness is on MTV tomorrow and next Tuesday at 10pm.
