THE line-up was today revealed for a new South Tyneside music festival - and it includes some top local acts.
Bernicia Festival is taking place on Sunday, August 4, at the Customs House, South Shields.
And the headliners will be none other than kitchen-sink-indie outfit Little Comets, who come mostly from Jarrow.
Joining them will be hotly-tipped singer Lulu James, from South Shields, who will soon be joining chart-topping pop songstress Emeli Sande as her European tour support.
Boldon band Boy Jumps Ship will bring a rockier edge to proceedings, while singer-songwriter Natasha Haws will further represent Bernicia’s founding town.
Other acts appearing include Symphonic Pictures, Minotaurs, The Union Choir, Gallery Circus, Maps Are Fiction, Crooked Hands, Lionhall. Athletes in Paris, The Railway Club, Faith Elliott, Suntrapp, and Little Red.
There’s still one slot left to fill - with one young band from the South Shields are getting the chance to perform at Bernicia by winning a ‘battle of the band-style’ audition, dubbed Bernicia Rising.
