INDIE band Little Comets are slowing things down for their fans.
The boys have announced A Special Little Acoustic Gig at the O2 Academy, in Newcastle.
The band, which stars Jarrow brothers Rob and Michael Coles and Washington’s Matt Hall, will perform a string of unplugged tracks at the gig on Thursday, May 29.
Lead singer and guitarist Rob said: “The last few EPs we’ve done, we’ve always ended up doing an acoustic video.
“At first, it was because it was a bit easier, but the more we did it, we found we could present the songs in a completely different way.
“A lot of people really liked them, and we spent so much time arranging them, that it seemed a shame to never really present them as a collection of songs.
“We knew we weren’t going to be doing a gig in Newcastle over the summer so we thought it would be a good idea to do this acoustic gig.”
Little Comets released The Gentle EP earlier this year, the first of three to come before the band’s third album. The second EP, Salt, is coming soon. Rob, 30, added: “We’re just busy recording at the minute. We’re finishing off the second EP now, and we’ll be bringing it out a couple weeks after this gig.
“The third EP will be coming out in October, and then the album will be early next year. It’ll include the lead song from each of the three EPs, but the rest will be new.
“We’ve got everything written but that doesn’t mean to say that we won’t think of something else and change it around.”
Doors for the gig open at 7pm and tickets cost £12.50.
