REVIEW: Blake: Songs From Stage & Screen, The Customs House, South Shields

The vocal harmony group have become regulars at the Customs House and have built up quite a following.

Their particular brand of music tends to attract a more mature audience. At 27, I'm pretty sure I was the youngest person there, but those who shrug them off as something that's not for them are missing out.

The trio showed off their stunning vocals as they worked their way through a repertoire of songs from stage and screen.

Kicking the show off with Maria from West Side Story, the boys gave a beautiful performance.

Their perfect harmonies are gorgeous, and the fact that they're rather easy on the eye doesn't hurt either. Looking dapper in suave suits, the guys put their stamp on the well-known tracks and made a big impression on the crowd.

Stunning performances came along with the likes of Music of the Night, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and Up Where We Belong.

And as the group were joined on stage by the theatre's own choir Custom Voices, they gave a show-stopping rendition of Hallelujah.

The boys also took pieces of film music and put words to it, as well as translating songs into Italian and their cheeky running joke about Il Divo had everyone chuckling.

Blake gave a pitch perfect A cappella performance of Moon River and the room fell silent to take in their beautiful voices.

Alongside their musical director, who was on stage with a grand piano, they rounded the night off with stunning versions of Time To Say Goodbye and Nessun Dorma, which prompted the crowd to scream for more.

They came back with You'll Never Walk Alone, ending the evening on a high.
