ONE of the most successful girl groups of the 1990s are coming to South Tyneside – and you could meet them!
All Saints are joining Texas, Gabrielle and Lulu James on the bill for SoundWaves 2014, which is being held in Bents Park, South Shields, on Saturday, August 23.
The group – Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis and sisters Natalie and Nicole Appleton – enjoyed five UK number one singles and sold more than 12 million records worldwide.
All Saints first enjoyed chart success in 1997 with I Know Where It’s At before enjoying their first chart-topper with Never Ever.
Further number ones followed with double A-side Under The Bridge/Lady Marmalade, Bootie Call, Pure Shores and Black Coffee.
The group split up in 2001 but have since reformed and will be performing their greatest hits at SoundWaves.
We have teamed up with South Tyneside Council to offer lucky readers the chance to win tickets for the gig and meet their favourite artists.
And today, we’re offering one reader and a friend the chance to meet All Saints backstage on the day.
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets for SoundWaves and the chance to meet Mel, Nicole, Shaznay and Natalie, answer the following question: which members of All Saints are sisters?
Fill in the competition form in today’s paper and send it to: All Saints SoundWaves competition, Shields Gazette, Chapter Row, South Shields, NE33 1BL. The closing date for entries is Tuesday, August 19.
Don’t miss your Gazette this week as we’ll offer chances to meet chart-topping singer Gabrielle and South Shields soul star Lulu James.
Tickets for SoundWaves are currently on offer at two-for-one and are priced at £30 for adults and £20 for youngsters aged five to 16.
