SOUTH Shields singing sensation Joe McElderry has added another hometown gig to his new tour - after his first was a sell-out.
It was revealed last week the 22–year–old X Factor and Popstar to Operastar champ will perform at the Customs House in South Shields next year as part of his Set Your Soul Alive tour.
However, within an hour of tickets going on sale for the gig on Saturday, March 22, the Mill Dam theatre had sold out.
Due to popular demand the Westoe singer will now also be performing on Sunday, March 23, and tickets will go on sale from 1pm tomorrow.
Peter Darrant, programming consultant for the Customs House, said: “We are delighted that Joe is able to perform at the Customs House for a second night.
“All the tickets for his first gig sold extremely quickly, within the hour, and we’re sure this will be the case for his additional date too.
“A lot of people want to see Joe perform, especially in his home town.
“Thankfully the theatre wasn’t booked up on March 23, so it’s been easy to accommodate him, and we’re thrilled to have Joe for an extra night.”
Tickets cost £20.50 (concessions £19). Book online at www.customshouse.co.uk or call the box office from 10am on 454 1234.
