LITTLE Mix are on track to raise cash for Sport Relief after recording a charity single.

The X Factor winning group, which stars South Shields girls Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, posed in running gear as they joined the fundraising efforts with their version of Cameo’s Word Up.

The band, which also stars Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, will see their recording of the 1986 hit released as a download on March 16.

A CD will be released the following day and will be available to buy from charity supporter, Sainsbury’s.

Perrie, 20, who hails from Whiteleas, South Shields, said: “We’ve all seen people push themselves and do incredible things for Sport Relief so it’s a dream come true to be releasing the official single this year.”

Perrie’s fiance, Zayn Malik, recorded last year’s Sport Relief single with his boyband One Direction. They performed a version of Blondie’s One Way Or Another.

Sport Relief takes place from March 21 to 23 with members of the public invited to raise money by running, swimming or cycling in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games. For more information, go to sportrelief.com.
