A SOUTH Tyneside health chief is delighted her son’s band were crowned winners of Britain’s Got Talent.

The musical theatre boyband wowed audiences with their rendition of Stars from Les Miserables.

The 23-year-old’s mum, Lorraine Lambert, chief executive of South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust, is delighted with her son’s achievement.

She said: “I just can’t believe it, we’re all so proud of him, we knew the boys could do it.”

Collabro were crowned winners after beating singer Lucy Kay into second place and have scooped £250,000 plus a spot on the Royal Variety Show

Jamie, who is from Washington, is a regular singer on the borough’s music circuit and often performs for the South Tyneside Summer Festival and at the Custom House in South Shields.

Read tomorrow’s Gazette for more about Jamie’s fantastic win.
