ED Sheeran surprised crowds as he took to the stage in South Shields.
The Lego House singer was the top secret mystery guest at a charity night organised by comedian Chris Ramsey.
Ed’s identity was kept securely under wraps until Chris announced him, sparking deafening cheers from the sell-out crowd.
Chris, 27, put together the gig in memory of his young half cousin Jack Leggett.
The nine-year-old, of Primrose Avenue, South Shields, died from a brain tumour just three days before Christmas. He had been diagnosed just two months earlier.
Jack’s father and Chris’s cousin, Alfie Leggett, and his partner Susan Clarkson, were helped through their ordeal by CLIC Sargent.
The gig also included stand up from Hebburn creator Jason Cook, Jarrow’s Carl Hutchinson, Pub Landlord comic Al Murray and music from Lindisfarne’s Billy Mitchell.
