A TAKE That tribute act are hoping that fans of the veteran boy-band will Never Forget their upcoming South Tyneside show.
Re-Take That are playing at the Customs House in South Shields next month.
The show, paying homage to one of Britain’s biggest boy-bands of all time, can be seen at the Mill Dam venue on Friday, August 15.
Ross Petty, impersonating Jason Orange, said: “Even though we’re based in the North East, we don’t often get to perform here, as we’re away touring so much, so it’s a treat for us to come home for a gig.
“This will be our first time at the Customs House too, so we can’t wait for it and, hopefully, it’ll be a great atmosphere.
“Obviously, we can’t exactly duplicate a Take That show because the expense would be ridiculous. They spend millions of pounds.
“We try our best to create the musical and emotional sides of it. We do things on a much smaller scale, which is more intimate.”
Re-Take That perform hits right from back when the band first formed in 1990 up to 2010’s Progress album.
Ross added: “They’ve got new material coming out in November too, so we can’t wait for that.
“It’s a constant evolution for us individually and as a band.
“We all have our favourite songs to perform, but for me, as Jason, I like the old-school melody we do because I get to have a bit of a dance-off with Howard.
“We’ve got our Robbie too, which is great. He does his own thing and comes back to do stuff with us from time to time, kind of like the real Robbie Williams.
“I think people are really interested in Take That and feel like they know the members because they’ve been around for so long.”
Tickets for the 7.45pm show cost £17.50. To book, go to www.customshouse.co.uk or call the venue’s box office on 454 1234.
* We’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for the show.
