THE weekend’s Soundwaves concert in South Shields was extra special for a number of Gazette readers.

Lillian Bell, 51, and daughter Sally Brown, 28, from South Shields, won a meet and greet with Texas star Sharleen Spiteri.

Sally said: “The show has been brilliant. I’m a big fan of Texas. It was great to meet Sharleen.

“She was lovely and really down to earth.”

Gemma Walker, 27, and pal Chelsea Maudling, 28, both from South Shields, were delighted to make their dreams come true by meeting Gabrielle.

Gemma said: “I’m a big fan of hers. I’ve been to see her perform live a couple of times before.

“I’ve really been looking forward to meeting her.

Heidi Craik, 42, and daughter Adele Ivory, 11, from Jarrow, were also seeing stars after scooping the chance to meet All Saints in the flesh.

Adele said: “I’ve had a really lovely time. I’m a big All Saints and have always loved their music.”
