Easter treat ... the Durham Light Infantry Society will be at Bede's World this weekend.

MILITARY magic will keep visitors in step at a South Tyneside museum this weekend.

Members of the 68th Durham Light Infantry Society will take over Bede’s World in Church Bank, Jarrow, on Saturday and Sunday.

The society will give visitors an insight into the life of one of The Duke of Wellington’s famous Red Coats’ regiments, from the year 1814.

A Bede’s World spokesman said: “Throughout the weekend, in full costume and armed with muskets, the society will be re-enacting stunning drill displays, as well as inviting visitors to join them on our farm, where they have set up their encampment for the weekend.

“In addition, for our younger visitors, we are also hosting a whole range of fabulous Easter-themed activities, including Easter egg hunts and the chance to decorate their very own Easter egg.”

Admission prices to the museum apply.

Contact Bede’s World on 489 2106 or visit the museum website at www.bedesworld.co.uk.
