A MUCH-loved actress has joined the cast of a sketch show in aid of a South Tyneside charity.
Leah Bell will perform as part of the Summer Laffalang, which aims to raise funds for South Shields-based Cancer Connections.
The sketch show, which is on at the Westovian Theatre in Pier Parade, South Shields, on Friday and Saturday night, was written by South Shields playwright Ed Waugh.
Director Gareth Hunter said: “We asked Leah along to the reading of the Laffalang sketches and she was brilliant.
“The sketches are hilarious and we had a fantastic time, so naturally we asked if she wanted to be involved.
“We’re delighted she will be part of the Laffalang team.”
The cast also includes Bob Stott, Paul Dunn, Viktoria Kay, Craig Richardson and Bethan Amber Carr-Brown.
The show will also see the stage debut of former Mayor of South Tyneside, Coun Ernest Gibson.
Leah said: “It’s great to be involved with such a talented troupe. The show will be fantastic and it is for a great cause.”
The show starts at 7.30pm each night.
Tickets cost £10 and can be obtained from the Westovian Theatre by calling 456 0980, the tourist information centre in Haven Point, South Shields on 424 7788 or through Cancer Connections on 456 5081 or 07751 246176.
