A NEW play which tackles the issue of being openly gay in football, comes to South Tyneside tomorrow.

One-man show Away From Home comes to the Customs House, in Mill Dam, South Shields, for one night only.

The story centres on Kyle, a male escort, who is hired by a Premiership footballer and ultimately falls in love.

Ray Spencer MBE, Executive Director at The Customs House, said: “Away From Home uses sharp humour to tackle a very important issue in sport spectacularly.”

Away From Home will be shown at the Mill Dam Venue, South Shields, as part of the LGBT History Month.
