A W-ELF of South Tyneside talent will help an annual festive show in South Tyneside be the best yet.

Santa’s most mischievous worker is returning to the borough with a new show.

Santa’s Naughty Elf and the Magical Snow Adventure comes to South Shields Library Theatre later this month.

Writer and director Wayne Miller, who also plays Elfluent the Elf, has high hopes for the festive show.

The 34-year-old, from South Shields, said: “I can’t wait to get started.

“It’s always hard to write a Naughty Elf show that’s different ever year and has something that’s fresh and funny. This year it came quick and natural.

“The show really has heart. It’s all about being together, sharing and being good to those you love.

“With that as a base, I think Santa’s Naughty Elf and The Magical Snow Adventure will deliver a great festive treat this year.”

Taking up the role of Elflorence will be Customs House favourite Rosie Winter.

The singer and actress, 27, from South Shields, said: “I’m so pleased to be part of the Santa’s Naughty Elf cast this year.

“Having worked with Wayne in the Customs House pantomime before a few years back, it’s so nice to return to a Christmas show to get everybody in the festive mood.

“After being part of the switch-on for the South Shields Christmas lights, I just can’t wait to Elf it up!”

Also joining the line-up will be former Byker Grove star Hazel Pude, as Fairy Snowflake.

The 21-year-old, also from South Shields, said: “Having grown up around panto as a dancer for South Tyneside Dance Workshop, it’s something close to my heart.

“I love to perform at Christmas, knowing you’re part of a family’s Christmas makes it very special. As Fairy Snowflake I can’t wait to spread some magic for all who come to see the show.”

Wayne added: “Working with Rosie and Hazel this year is a perk of the job. Getting to work with great talent who I’ve worked with before makes my job much easier.”

Making a return to Santa’s Naughty Elf is Dean Logan as Elfred and joining the cast for the first time is Vanessa Karon, as Snowy The Snowman.

Santa’s Naughty Elf and the Magical Snow Adventure runs at South Shields Library Theatre, in Prince Georg Square, from Saturday, December 14, to Christmas Eve.

Tickets cost £6.50 for children and £5.50 for adults.
