LIFE is a cabaret this summer.
The Customs House, in South Shields is getting in the swing of things by hosting a variety of top-class musical entertainment.
The Mill Dam theatre is set to become a haven for jazz, swing, and all things musical.
The venue’s executive director, Ray Spencer, said: “Every August we put on cabaret evenings and afternoons for our customers to enjoy top-class entertainment with first-class food.
“The entertainment is designed so there is something for everyone, and it’s ideal for the summer months when you may want to take your time over your food, sit back and relax with the perfect entertainment.”
Dinner with a Movie Musical takes place on Wednesdays throughout the month, and includes a two-course supper and a great classic or modern musical.
Tables in the Green Room can be booked from 5pm, and films start at 7.30pm. The films are Mamma Mia tomorrow, The Student Prince on August 13, Carousel on August 20 and Les Misérables on August 27.
Customs House regulars Angela Hannon and Dianne Jackson will be joined by pianist Andrew Richardson to serenade you with a mixture of music and laughter with Summer Soiree lunches on Monday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 26.
Danny Reed will perform a one-off night of swing music with a hearty three-course Italian supper on Friday, and on Friday, August 22 resident ukulele band the Dam Ukes will entertain.
On Thursday, August 28, Ruth Lambert will perform an afternoon of jazz. The season’s entertainment comes to an end with Ray and Trish’s Quiz Night, presented by the venue’s Ray Spencer and his partner Trish Haws.
The evening of entertainment and fun is back by popular demand on Friday, August 29, bringing another night of brain-busting questions to test your wits.
