MUSICIANS, dancers, singers and actors took to the stage to showcase their talents in front of the Pride of South Tyneside Awards judges.
The acts have all been nominated for Young Performer of the Year – an accolade that has helped launch the careers of previous winners Jade Thirwall, of girl band Little Mix, and singer Joe McElderry.
Among the contestants at the Customs House in South Shields was 13-year-old Hope Billie Swan, who slowed things down with her rendition of Adele’s Make You Feel My Love.
Judge Steven Lee Hamilton said: “You have got a lovely tone to your voice and I liked the way you held the long notes at the end. Adele clips them off, but you held them.”
The Young Performer of the Year will be announced at the Pride awards night at the Temple Park Centre in South Shields on Sunday, April 28.
