A SOUTH Tyneside new girl is already causing a stir in a controversial reality TV show.
Marnie Simpson from South Shields has joined the cast of MTV’s Geordie Shore.
The TV show, a spin-off from MTV smash Jersey Shore, follows a group of 20-somethings as they party in and around Newcastle.
The 21-year-old is the cousin of fellow sanddancer Sophie Kasaei, from Tyne Dock, South Shields, who is later removed from the show by MTV bosses after allegedly using a racial slur during the filming of series seven.
Last week, as the first episode was aired, Sophie was seen to be surprised by the arrival of her younger cousin.
However, single Marnie quickly upset the other female house mates, especially Holly Hagan, by flirting with the boys.
Viewers took to Twitter to express their disapproval of her antics – with many sending the star vile and offensive tweets.
But some followers were more than happy with the new addition.
@LantaNicoleKirk tweeted: “Absolutely LOVE @Marniegshore!!! In stitches over her on Geordie shore!! Great new addition to the show”
@hollywoulfe1 added: “Actually like @Marniegshore think she’s going to be proper entertaining! Don’t see what the problem is.”
Marnie thanked her more positive followers and said: “Thank you to everyone and your support. It means the world to me.”
The next episode of Geordie Shore will be aired on MTV at 10pm on Tuesday.
