Whitburn indie pop band Lord Swans are celebrating the release of their third single.
Following critical acclaim for their previous releases, the four-piece have unveiled their latest single, Listance.
Since launching onto the live circuit last year, the band have enjoyed numerous plays on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6, and support slots alongside Coasts, Young Kato and Pretty Vicious.
As a further boost, BBC’s Huw Stephens highlighted the band as ones to watch on his Radio 1 show.
With a sound compared to the likes of Biffy Clyro, Foals and Circa Waves, the band hopes their new release will bring them to a wider audience.
The band recorded the single at Y Studios in Tyneside with one of the North East’s most promising young producers, Anth Snowdon.
Songwriter and vocalist Matt Bulmer said: “Listance is a really upbeat track.
“We worked really hard with Anth Snowdon on the production of this one, that’s why we love it so much.
“It’s a song we’re really proud of in all aspects.
“The song title is a nice sounding nonsense and I think people will like it because it’s so easy to listen to.
“We’ve had an amazing 2016 and we’re determined to make 2017 ours.
“We’re already planning the album and we want to reach all corners of the UK to show our fans both old and new what we’re made of.
“We’ll be announcing our UK tour dates in the early part of next year.”
Listance is out now on iTunes.
Lord Swans’ forthcoming gig dates include:
l Jumpin’ Jacks in Newcastle with Cassia, November 21, at 8pm. Tickets cost £5.
l Cluny in Newacastle with Illegal Waste, December 30, at 8pm. Entry is free.
