INDIE music fans can see The Horrors later this month after the band was announced as the second support act to warm up the crowd for the Kings of Leon at Newcastle United’s St James’s Park home ground.

The five-piece band will join White Lies as support acts for the concert on Saturday, May 31.

Further support acts are expected to be announced soon.

Additional standing tickets have been released after the initial allocation sold out in record time, and a new lower-category ticket is also now available. priced at £29.50.

Tickets are now available direct from the Magpies’ box office.

The gig is the Kings of Leon’s largest UK stadium concert yet and is the first to be held at St James’s Park for almost seven years, the last being one by Rod Stewart.

The US band – formed in Tennessee in 1999 by brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill – will play songs from their new album, Mechanical Bull, their fourth No 1 album in the UK, in addition to their back catalogue.
