Cinderella set to have a ball in Jarrow

A classic fairytale character is set to have a ball when she casts a spell over Jarrow this weekend.

Cinderella will be staged by Jarrow Musical Theatre Company from tomorrow until Sunday at Jarrow Hub, formerly Jarrow Community Centre.

In the lead role is Frances Wood as Cinderella and Lana Wood as Fairy Godmother.

A spokesman for the theatre company said: “It’s the usual story plot of the downtrodden heroine who eventually gets the her Prince and the Ugly Sisters who get their comeuppance. Family fun once again.”

Performance times are Thursday and Friday at 7pm, with Saturday shows at 1pm and 5.30pm and a Sunday matinee at 2pm.
