A HIT black comedy is coming home this week.
Fresh from a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Send More Paper is on stage at the Customs House in South Shields on Friday.
Theatre company Camisado Club rehearsed the play at the Mill Dam venue before heading to the famous festival.
Send More Paper relives the true tale of a group of housewives in Hungary who committed mass murder over 15 years in the early 20th century.
Customs House marketing, programming and events co-ordinator, Sally Hoban, said: “We saw this show earlier in the year, and we knew we had to bring it to the venue.
“The group rehearsed here before going to Edinburgh and there was a real buzz about the play. It’s a Tarintino-esque show with a great cast.
“We’re always eager to support and celebrate new theatre and we’re delighted to see Camisado Club at the Customs House.”
The grisly story uses dark humour to follow the housewives who systematically poisoned their husbands, parents, children and anyone who got in their way.
Camisado Club is part of North Company, which is supported by Northern Stage.
Tickets for the 8pm show cost £7.50 or £6.50 for Friends of the Customs House.
