Acts set to play the Friday included Vengaboys, 2Unlimited, B*Witched, N-Trace, East 17 and D:Ream, while Saturday was set to welcome Levellers, Happy Mondays, Sunderland’s own The Futureheads, New Model Army, Cast, The Selecter, The Wedding Present and Wilko Johnson.
The event’s Facebook page said: "Like all the hospitality and events industry, we've been hanging on for so long, it's felt like forever, and there's been some periods where we wondered if live music would ever be back.
"But we've done everything in our power to ensure a bright future for Kubix.

They added they were in contact with the local authorities and public health teams as they looked to a revised date to offer “some real certainty of the 2021 party that everyone needs.”
Ticketholders have been told refunds will be on offer if they are unable to make the new dates or they can roll them over until 2022’s event.
The team added: “This final Road Map delay announcement felt like another in a long line of hurdles to jump, but we've jumped them all, and right now our team are more determined than ever to guarantee you a Kubix you'll never to forget and a local festival we can rightly be proud of, and all enjoy - that will be back year after year, getting bigger and better.”
