Staff member at Home Bargains store tests positive for coronavirus

The discount store, in Station Street, has remained open but bosses say they have followed Government guidance to do their part to help prevent the spread of the virus.
A spokesperson from Home Bargains said: “We have responded in accordance with the Government’s guidance and taken every reasonable precaution to ensure that we have done our part to help prevent the spread of this virus.

Popular Jarrow pub The Lakeside Inn announced on Wednesday, August 26, that it had closed for deep clean after two of its staff members have tested positive for coronavirus – with other staff members’ test results pending.
In the last week (from Thursday, August 20) 16 new cases have been confirmed in South Tyneside, according to figures from Public Health England.
