Blow for music fans as power cut forces UB40 off stage at Bents Park bonanza
The ever-popular chart-toppers - who are the headline attraction at today's South Tyneside Festival summer concert finale at Bents Park - were just a handful of songs into a planned 90-minute set when the electrical fault occurred.
Over 25,000 fans were left disappointed when the reggae band - famous for smash hits such as Red, Red Wine and Falling in Love with You - had to briefly halt their performance.

Hide AdBents Park fell silent for several minutes before the veteran band - who have racked up 40 hits in nearly 40 years on stage - were able to make a triumphant return.
The iconic group got right back on song with a performance of their best-selling hit Red, Red Wine.
UB40 are providing a fantastic finale to the month-long series of free summer concerts laid on at the park.
Nearly 90,000 fans have crammed into the seafront spot for four star-studded gigs.
