Children's charity gives big thanks to toy appeal donors
Gifts to the value of £1,596 were donated at our designated collection point D&H Windows in Tudor Road.
It meant that thanks to your generosity 297 children from families most in need woke up on Christmas morning with gifts to open.

Hope4Kidz began the appeal with a plea for selection boxes for its Santa’s Christmas party, which was attended by more than 400 disadvantaged children from across the region.
Viv Watts, chief executive of Hope4Kidzs, said: “We are over the moon with the response.
“From all at Hope 4 Kidz and all those families and children who benefited, we send our heartfelt thanks to all those who donated gifts and to D&H Windows, who supported the appeal to help make Christmas for so many.

Gavin Foster, managing editor of the Shields Gazette, said: “We are always astounded by the generosity of the people of South Tyneside.
“Each year we launch our appeal and hope for a miracle and every year we are overwhelmed by the response.
“A great many people rely on our appeal for a little Christmas cheer. Your donations have made a real difference to them.”
